Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Your Eminence, this is an important question. We suffer in one of the areas from four matters, which are first: the presence of those who sell satellite dishes of various types, second: those who claim to bring back lost items.

The Shaykh : What?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : A fortune-teller, meaning.

The questioner : Third: the beating of the drum on holidays and occasions. Fourth: those who engage in dancing with poetry that contains cursing and exposing people's private parts and announcing them on the heads of the people. The request is to direct advice to each of them, with detail in the ruling, so that we can distribute this tape during the vacation. May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : Yes, give the first one, then the next.

The questioner : He says: First, the presence of those who sell satellite dishes to people.

The Shaykh : Well, it is known that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said in His Book:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression وَلا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
Bringing in these satellite dishes and selling them is aiding in their acquisition, and whoever aids in a sin incurs of its sin what he deserves. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who pays it, those who witness it and the one who writes it down. لعن آكل الربا وموكله وشاهديه وكاتبه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2277Hasan (Darussalam)
because the two witnesses and the scribe aided in establishing this contract, so they incurred what they deserve of the curse. Therefore, selling satellite dishes is forbidden, buying them is forbidden, and carrying them to places of sale is forbidden, because all of that is aiding in what? In sin and transgression. And their price and whatever earnings are obtained from them are all illicit, and I seek refuge in Allah.

The questioner : Those who claim to bring back lost items.

The Shaykh : As for the one who claims to bring back lost items, this is called by the scholars the fortune-teller, and visiting fortune-tellers is forbidden, because it is an incitement for them. And who guarantees that the one who locates or brings back the lost items is one who guarantees that he employs the jinn devils in a forbidden manner? Either he prostrates to them or slaughters for them or something similar to that. So in visiting these fortune-tellers is an incitement for them to what they are upon of this work.

The questioner : The beating of the drum on holidays and occasions.

The Shaykh : I do not know the drum, what is the drum? Does it mean the drum?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : What the Sunnah brought in these matters is that women beat the hand drum on the night of the wedding, for this is part of announcing the marriage and is what the Sunnah brought.

The questioner : Those who engage in dancing with poetry that contains cursing and exposing people's private parts and announcing them on the heads of the people.

The Shaykh : A man or a woman?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : They dance like the dancing of women. Dancing for men is forbidden, because its reality is likening men to women. Also, dancing by women is not appropriate because fitnah occurs in it, not in weddings or other than weddings. Then if the subject of the poems contains satire, cursing, and abuse, it is uglier and uglier. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward our Shaykh with the best reward and benefit us with his knowledge, and I remind the Shaykh that there are books being distributed ... for the brothers.

The Shaykh : One of the brothers will take charge of the distribution, and each one will remain in his place, and five or six will distribute them.

The questioner : May Allah reward our Shaykh with the best reward, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon His servant and His Messenger Muhammad.
