What is the Muslim's position regarding his seeing the polytheists who call upon their awliya (close friends of Allah) and they obtain what they seek?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If someone were to say, "Perhaps these people call upon these idols or these awliya (close friends of Allah) and they obtain what they seek," pay attention to this issue. Perhaps they call upon the awliya (close friends of Allah) or the idols and they obtain what they seek, and then they come and say, "We called upon so-and-so a wali (close friend of Allah) and he answered our call; we called upon this idol and it answered our call." What is your position regarding that? Our position regarding that is that Allah the Exalted may cause this thing to happen at the time of supplication, not by means of the supplication, as a test for the supplicant. Pay attention to the difference between "at the time of" and "by means of." "At the time of supplication, not by means of the supplication" means that Allah may test this supplicant and decree the occurrence of what he supplicated for at the time of his supplication, even if that was not by his supplication. And this is possible, not impossible. I mean, it is possible. A person may come and call upon this wali (close friend of Allah) who has a grave with a supplication, and then what he supplicated for happens to him as a test from Allah Mighty and Majestic, not because this wali (close friend of Allah) is the one who gave it to him. For we know with certainty that this wali (close friend of Allah) will not benefit him and will not respond to him, but he may be afflicted.
