Q 1: Who are the awliya (close friends of Allah) and the awliya of Satan ?
A 2: The awliya of Allah are the believers who are mindful of Allah, as the Exalted said:[Yunus 10:62-63] ,
and faith and mindfulness of Allah consist of acting in obedience to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and avoiding what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, namely religious innovations, superstitions, and acts of associating partners with Allah. The awliya of Satan are his followers among the mushrikin (those who associate partners with Allah), the superstitious, and the innovators, who kill off the Sunnahs and bring to life religious innovations and deviations. The Exalted said:[An-Nahl 16:100] , so not everyone who claims to be a wali, or for whom it is claimed, is so, until he is one who affirms the oneness of Allah, acts in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, and keeps away from shirk (associating partners with Allah) and religious innovations. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ (62) الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَand faith and mindfulness of Allah consist of acting in obedience to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and avoiding what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, namely religious innovations, superstitions, and acts of associating partners with Allah.
