Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: May the Shaykh explain, if a woman is a teacher and receives a salary, is it obligatory for the husband to provide for her, or is the obligation of maintenance dropped from him?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for the husband to provide for his wife, even if she is wealthy, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him
[At-Talaq 65:7]
, and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
You are responsible for providing them with food and clothing in a fitting manner لهن عليكم رزقهن وكسوتهن بالمعروف
Sunan Abi Dawud 1905Sahih (Al-Albani)
However, the wife should help her husband if he is poor and does not have financial abundance. She should help with the expenses of the house, the expenses of the children, and her own expenses as well. Otherwise, the husband is bound to provide for her and for her children. Yes.
