Question 4: Fatwa number ( 15065 )
Q4: What is the opinion of the religion regarding one who marries two women and provides maintenance for only one of them?
A4: Maintenance is the right of the woman, so if she waives her right to maintenance, that is permissible for her. However, if she does not waive her right, it is obligatory for the husband to be just between his wives in maintenance and other matters according to his ability. Otherwise, he bears sin and will come on the Day of Resurrection with his side tilted, and Allah will expose him before all witnesses, as stated in that authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The woman has the right to demand her right by the Shari'ah, and the Shari'ah obligates him to do so; for Allah the Exalted said:[At-Talaq 65:7] And He the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:233] And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 996 narrated by Muslim And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 2133Sahih (Al-Albani) narrated by the Imam Ahmad and the compilers of the four Sunan. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him
Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable.
وَعَلَى الْمَوْلُودِ لَهُ رِزْقُهُنَّ وَكِسْوَتُهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِThis sin is enough for a man that he withholds the subsistence from one whose master he is.
كفى بالمرء إثمًا أن يحبس عمن يملك قوتهWhen a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down.
