What is the ruling on beautifying the voice in reciting the Qur'an for female students in the presence of a male teacher at the university, even though they are not required to do so?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman asks: What is the ruling on beautifying the voice in reciting the Qur'an for female students in the presence of a male teacher at the university, even though they are not required to do so?

The Shaykh : I do not think she should beautify her voice, because Allah the Exalted says:
then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech. فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا
[Al-Ahzab 33:32]
. So if a student recites the Qur'an with a melodic tone and beautified voice, there is a fear of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) arising from it. It is sufficient for her to recite the Qur'an in a normal, plain manner. Yes.
