The questioner : The honorable Shaykh, I said, may Allah guide you, in today's broadcast: The correct view is that one who intentionally leaves Hajj does not become a disbeliever, but he has demolished a pillar. So what is the meaning of the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حميد
[Luqman 31:12]

The Shaykh :
of the worlds عن العالمين
.

The questioner : This is His saying.
of the worlds عن العالمين
after the verse regarding the obligation of Hajj upon the one who is able?

The Shaykh : Yes. Allah the Exalted expressed that whoever disbelieves, then indeed Allah is free from need of the worlds, because he did not adhere to the pillars of Islam. And disbelief is used for what is less than shirk (associating partners with Allah), to the extent that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Two (things) are found among men which are tantamount to unbelief: slandering one's lineage and lamentation on the dead. اثنتان في الناس هما بهم كفر الطعن في النسب والنياحة على الميت
Sahih Muslim 67
. And it is agreed upon that this does not take one out of the religion. And what made us prefer this view is that 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) — and he is one of the great, well-known Tabi'un (the generation after the Companions) — said: "The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider any of the deeds to be such that leaving it is disbelief, except prayer" Yes.
