The honorable Shaykh… May Allah know that I love you in Him. I wish to inquire about what happened to me in one of the years.

The questioner : The honorable Shaykh says: May Allah know that I love you in Him. I wish to inquire about what happened to me in one of the years. I booked a flight for the twelfth day. When I went to perform the farewell circumambulation on that day, the crowd prevented me, and I missed the flight. I was forced to stay until the thirteenth day. I had intended to hasten (tamattu'). Do I have to stone the pillar on the thirteenth day, even though I stayed with my companions in Mina during that day? Please give me a ruling, may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : Yes. There is no doubt that the precaution for the brother questioner—may Allah love him as he loves us in Him—is that the safest course for him is to slaughter a fidyah (ransom payment) in Makkah to be distributed to the poor in compensation for the stoning of the pillars he left. However, if he had intended to leave the stay and the stoning, but his companions forced him to stay, and he remained without performing the rites, then he owes nothing, because the man hastened (tamattu'). But he was deprived of the reward. What is the reward he was deprived of? He was deprived of the reward of staying, because the one who stays has the reward of the stay, the reward of the stoning, and the reward of following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed.
Yes.
