Ruling on one who left the stoning of the third pillar and the farewell tawaf

Question:
The listener: (K. M. D.) sent a message containing a number of questions. He has a very long question in which he says:
In the year 1407, I performed the obligatory Hajj with my wife, who was pregnant, and I performed all the rituals, praise be to Allah, with ease and simplicity. However, when stoning the devil on the second day, I was unable to stone the third pillar. My wife had appointed me to stone all the pillars on her behalf because she was unable to do so. I am confused and have asked several people about it. Some tell me: Your Hajj is valid, and some tell me: You are required to sacrifice a hady. I know that I sacrificed only one hady for myself, and this was on the first day of the festival, before I stoned the second pillar, because I thought that I might have missed something from the rituals. Since I was unable to stone the third pillar on the second day, after having sacrificed on the first day, is it permissible for me to sacrifice again, or should I be content with the first sacrifice?
And should I sacrifice for my wife who appointed me to stone the pillars for her? If I sacrifice for her now, is that permissible, or is it during the time of Hajj? I ask you to inform me about these matters.
May Allah reward you with good.
I would also like to inform you that I asked one of the brothers, who is the imam of a mosque in one of the mosques, and he informed me and said to me: You can give charity with the price of the hady by buying one of the religious tafsirs and donating it instead of sacrificing. At the same time, he said to me: We recite al-Fatihah for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), considering this as a promise from me to send these tafsirs, with the price of the hady. I am now confused and afraid that I may have broken my promise. Is reciting al-Fatihah for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this form considered a promise as this person did? And is it permissible to send these tafsirs to him as a substitute for the hady?
I also inform you that I did not perform the farewell tawaf when I finished my Hajj. This is according to what I heard from the brothers who were with me. They told me: Since you are a resident of the Kingdom, you do not have to perform the farewell tawaf, whether you perform it or not. Is this correct, or is my Hajj incomplete? Is it permissible for me to perform tawaf a second time with the intention of the farewell tawaf? And is it permissible for me to sacrifice a hady in this case? Because I heard in one of the sessions of the program: Light on the Path, one of the brothers asked that if he did not perform tawaf and traveled, the answer to him was that he should come to Makkah and perform tawaf and sacrifice a hady if he had intercourse with his wife. During all this period, does that apply to me, or is there another ruling for this tawaf?
Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
You only have to pay a fidyah for leaving the stoning, and the wife also has to pay, so you both have two fidyahs. For you, one sacrifice, and for her, one sacrifice. If the sacrifice you slaughtered was not intended as the sacrifice for leaving the stoning, but you intended something else with it, then you have to sacrifice one for yourself and another for your wife, because of leaving the stoning. This sacrifice is like the udhiyah: a one-year-old sheep or a two-year-old goat, free from defects, to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor and the needy, whether you do it yourself or appoint a trustworthy person in Makkah to do it.
As for the farewell tawaf, it is obligatory. The one who said: You do not have to perform the farewell tawaf while you are in Saudi Arabia, is wrong. This is pure ignorance. Rather, you also have to sacrifice for leaving the farewell tawaf, because it is obligatory for the pilgrim, when he finishes his Hajj and wants to travel, to perform tawaf for the farewell. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): And the saying of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "The people were ordered—meaning: the Prophet ordered them—to make their last visit to the House, except that it was made easier for the menstruating woman." So the menstruating woman and the woman with post-natal bleeding do not have to perform the farewell tawaf. But you have to perform the farewell tawaf. Since you left it, you have to sacrifice a sacrifice to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor, like the udhiyah: a one-year-old sheep or a two-year-old goat.
As for the one who told you: You should give the value, he was wrong, and this is ignorance on his part. It indicates a lack of insight, and that he speaks about Allah without knowledge. The price is not sufficient, whether it is put into books of tafsir or otherwise. Giving the value or charity with books, all of that does not take the place of the hady.
Likewise, reciting al-Fatihah for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a bid'ah (religious innovation) with no basis. So we advise you to be cautious about asking those who are not known for knowledge, virtue, and insight in the religion. Do not ask except the people of knowledge who are known for wara' (scrupulousness), knowledge, and insight in the religion of Allah, and a good reputation. Because many people speak about Allah without knowledge and issue fatwas without insight. We ask Allah for well-being and safety. Yes.
