Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: May the Shaykh be respected, some gas stations reduce the price of gasoline when purchasing from them. For example: they give you a booklet worth two hundred riyals for one hundred and ninety riyals. Is that permissible?

The Shaykh : Why?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Do you lower the price?

The questioner : ... its value is two hundred for one hundred and ninety.

The Shaykh : That is, some of the station owners say: We lower the price so that people gather to them. This is originally not a problem. But Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If this harms the market, the people of the market, then it is obligatory for the one in authority and the market inspector to prevent it and say: Sell as people sell". If he says: I have made it cheaper for the consumers. We say: Yes. But you have harmed the others, unless the others have raised the price. And if he is content with a small profit, then he has that right and there is no blame on him in it. And it is said to the others: Lower the price. Yes.
