I ask for advice to be directed to those who understood from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)

The questioner : The honorable Shaykh says: I ask for advice to be directed to those who understood from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
From one Friday to the next is an expiation الجمعة إلى الجمعة كفارة
Sunan Ibn Majah 1086Sahih (Darussalam)
. So they leave the congregational prayer. And perhaps they leave some of the prayers or are negligent with them, hoping that their prayer on the second Friday will expiate that. Especially some of our non-resident brothers? We ask for your benefit; may Allah benefit you.

The Shaykh : The information is this: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
from one Friday prayer to (the next) Friday prayer is an expiation (of the sins committed in between their intervals) if major sins are not committed. الجمعة إلى الجمعة كفارة لما بينهن إذا اجتنبت الكبائر،
Sahih Muslim 233a
. And leaving the prayer is a major sin. Indeed, it is disbelief according to some scholars. Some scholars say: If a person leaves one prayer and its time passes without an excuse, he becomes a disbeliever. Former scholars said this, and contemporary scholars said this: that leaving one prayer until its time passes without an excuse is disbelief. So we say to this man: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
an expiation for what is between them, if major sins are avoided كفارة لما بينهما ما اجتنبت الكبائر
. And if you want to understand this understanding, I will add to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
From 'Umrah to 'Umrah is an expiation - for what? - for what is between them العمرة إلى العمرة كفارة - لإيش ؟ - لما بينهما
. So do not fast and do not pray, but perform 'Umrah, one 'Umrah after another, and then it will be an expiation. There is no doubt that if he is ignorant, he is ignorant and must be informed. And if he is knowledgeable, he is defiant without doubt. And no scholar understands that the meaning of the hadith is: that Friday is an expiation. And that it removes from a person the obligation of the congregation, or the obligation of prayer as well. Yes.
