Does one who suffers from kidney failure, diabetes, and every chronic illness fast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: O esteemed Shaykh, does one who suffers from kidney failure, diabetes, and every chronic illness fast? I ask for detail, may Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Some of these illnesses are severe, and a person is unable to fast, and their removal is not expected. For these illnesses, it is permissible for the one afflicted by them to break his fast, and to feed one poor person for every day. If he wishes, he may feed them for each day as it comes, or if he wishes, he may gather them at the end of the month and feed according to the number of days. Then, if he wishes, he may provide a dinner or a pre-dawn meal, or if he wishes, he may distribute one kilogram of rice to each poor person for every day. As for the person who is able to fast and does not suffer harm or hardship, it is obligatory for him to fast. Fasting is not like travel; in travel, it is permissible for you to break your fast even if you do not find hardship. But as for illness, it is not permissible for you to break your fast unless you find hardship. Yes.
