The Shaykh : Yes, if the matter is as you stated, that you were breastfed by the wife's sister from her mother, meaning you were breastfed by the wife's mother or her father's wife, then in this state you would be her brother, and the marriage contract would be invalid. However, you must know that breastfeeding has no effect unless it is five feedings or more within the first two years before weaning. If it was one, two, three, or four feedings, it has no effect and does not result in prohibition. If you are certain that you were breastfed by the mother of this woman you married, or by her father's wife, five times or more within the two years, then separation between you is obligatory because the marriage is not valid. As for the children born before this knowledge, they are attributed to you by law, because these children were created from the water of intercourse in a state of doubt, and intercourse in a state of doubt establishes lineage, as the scholars have explicitly stated.
