Ruling on marrying a woman who was breastfed twice by the husband's mother

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You say in another case: A girl was breastfed by a woman when she was young, twice. The son of this woman came and wanted to propose to this girl, knowing that she was breastfed along with his younger brother. Is it permissible for this girl to marry this young man? Or not? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Two breastfeedings do not prohibit marriage. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Breastfeeding once or twiceلا تحرم الرضعة، ولا الرضعتان
Sunan Ibn Majah 1940Sahih (Darussalam)
And he said to Sahlah bint Sahil: "Breastfeed Salim five times, and you will be prohibited to him." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said in an authentic hadith: "It was among what was revealed in the Qur'an that ten known breastfeedings prohibit marriage, then they were abrogated by five known breastfeedings. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away while the matter remained as such."
So, two breastfeedings do not prohibit marriage, and there is no blame on him for marrying her. However, if he leaves this off out of caution, because some scholars hold that a single breastfeeding prohibits marriage, it is good to leave what is doubtful. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.دع ما يريبك، إلى ما لا يريبك
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5711Sahih (Darussalam)
If he leaves this off out of caution and to avoid a doubtful matter, there is no blame; this is good and fine. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
