Is it permissible to engrave names and letters, whether in Arabic or English, on gold? Is there any prohibition in that or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to engrave names and letters, whether in Arabic or English, on gold? Is there any prohibition in that or not?

The Shaykh : Writing names on gold, if it means writing the name on a ring, for example.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with it. It is established that the engraving on the ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was:
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah محمد رسول الله
So if the name is engraved on the ring, there is nothing wrong with it, except for what is mentioned regarding the people of the "dubal" (coupled rings) who write their wives' names on their rings and their wives write their names on their rings. This is what is prohibited, because it is generally not free from a defective belief, where they think that if the man writes his wife's name on his ring and the woman writes her husband's name on her ring, that will be more conducive to the bond between them. This is a defective and invalid belief. Yes.

The questioner : A message was received by the program from Yemen, sent by the listener Yahya ibn Ali. He says in his message.
