Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the meaning of this supplication:
O Allah, there is nothing easy except what You have made easy, for You make the difficult easy if You will اللهم لا سهل إلا ما جعلته سهلاً، فإنك تجعل الحزن إن شئت سهلاً
?

The Shaykh : I do not know of any basis for this supplication in the Sunnah, but it is on the tongues of some people. Its meaning is that anything Allah does not make easy for a person will not be easy for him, because what is easy is what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has made easy. And al-hazn, meaning the severe and difficult, if Allah (Mighty and Majestic) wills to make it easy, He makes it easy and light. Just as the easy, if Allah the Exalted wills, He makes it difficult and hard, because all matters are in the hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
The substance of this supplication is that a person asks Allah to make difficult matters easy for him, and he praises Allah (Mighty and Majestic) by acknowledging that matters are in His hand, so if He wills, He makes al-hazn easy. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. A listener of al-Nur from Sudan, residing in Riyadh, says in his message.
