Warning about the issue of loyalty and disavowal when one does not agree with a scholar in his ruling.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Likewise, some people imagine that certain matters are obligatory, and perhaps they believe this based on a mistaken independent legal reasoning on their part. If only they would stop there, but they make this belief, which is based on a figurative interpretation or a baseless doubtful matter, a means for loyalty and disavowal. And this is the problem! If a person does not agree with his opinion, even if his opinion is wrong according to the evidence of the Book and the Sunnah, he hates and detests this man. And if he agrees with his opinion, he loves him, even if this man who agreed with his opinion has more religious innovations than he does. But because he agreed with his opinion, he became beloved to him. And this is a problem!
I do not like to put the dots on the letters in this specific issue, but it is known to many of the young people.
They have started to show loyalty to and disavow such a person, or to show loyalty to such a person.
They show loyalty to such a person because he issued a ruling for them with what they believe to be the truth, and they disavow such a person because he issued a ruling for them with what they think is not the truth. And this is an error.
The scholar who issues rulings does not issue rulings in order to be mentioned among people, or to be praised among people, or to be beloved among people, or to be disliked among people. No.
Rather, he issues rulings according to what he believes.
