The questioner : I ask you, O honorable Shaykh, about the correct method of wudu and the words and phrases that are obligatory to recite. And are some drops of urine, May Allah protect you and my Muslim brothers, that touch the clothes after leaving the restroom considered to invalidate the wudu? I know that I stay in the restroom for a long time so that the process does not repeat for me, but what is to be done? Guide us, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : Wudu is washing the face, which includes rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose, washing the hands up to the elbows from the fingertips to the elbows, wiping the head, which includes the ears, and washing the feet from the fingertips to the ankles. There is no obligatory saying in it except the Basmalah (saying the name of Allah). The scholars differed on its obligation. Some said it is obligatory because the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is authentic to them:
the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is valid لا وضوء لمن لم يذكر اسم الله عليه
Sunan Abi Dawud 102Sahih Maqtu' (Al-Albani)
. And some said it is a recommended practice because the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not established to them:
the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is valid لا وضوء لمن لم يذكر اسم الله عليه
Sunan Abi Dawud 102Sahih Maqtu' (Al-Albani)
, and because those who described the wudu of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not mention that he used to say the Basmalah.
As for the dhikr after wudu, which is what the one performing wudu says when he finishes his wudu: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. O Allah, make me among those who repent, and make me among those who purify themselves", it is not obligatory.
As for what was mentioned about remembering Allah when washing the face, when washing the hands, when wiping the head, and when washing the feet, this has no basis. It is not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he would remember Allah at each limb of the wudu. As for what the questioner mentioned about himself, that when he performs wudu, or rather, that when he urinates and then performs istinja', drops of urine come out after he leaves the place where the wudu is invalidated, these drops are not free from one of two states.
Either they are continuous such that there is no pause in them. In that case, they have the ruling of incontinence (salsal al-bawl). That is, if a person performs wudu, he should take precautions to the best of his ability after washing his private parts, then perform his wudu for prayer, and then pray. He should not perform wudu for prayer before the time enters. This is if these drops are continuous and do not stop. But if they stop, but they occur after urination by about a quarter of an hour or something similar, he should wait until they stop. If they come out after this, his wudu is invalidated, because what comes out from the two passages invalidates the wudu in all cases. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh Muhammad. The listener, Awatif from Jeddah, sent this message saying in it.
