A man saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream, and he was teaching him words to supplicate with, so when he woke up, he printed this supplication and distributed it among the people

The questioner : The listener is also from Hadramaut, in southern Yemen. M S C says: We have a man who saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream, and he was teaching him words and supplicating with them, so when he woke up, he printed this supplication and distributed it among the people. What is the ruling on this action? May Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : This action does not derive a Shari'ah ruling or the Sunnah of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him). Rather, the entire Shari'ah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was completed before his death (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him). Therefore, there is no legislation after the death of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him), ever. If a person sees someone and it occurs to him that it is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is not the Prophet. Rather, this person whom the person saw must match what the scholars have transmitted regarding the description of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the mere fact that it occurs to the sleeper that this is the Messenger of Allah, this is not evidence that it is truly the Messenger of Allah.
Then, as for this supplication that this claimant claimed, if the Sunnah has brought it, then it is a Sunnah from before. But if the Sunnah has not brought it, then it is not permissible to print it and distribute it, because there is no legislation after the death of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him). Yes.
