The questioner : A listener also asks: What is your opinion, O honorable Shaykh, regarding these books: the book "Al-Adhkar", the book "Al-Jawab al-Kafi li Man Sala 'an al-Dawa' al-Shafi", and also the book "Riyad al-Salihin", the book "Khzinat al-Asrar", and the book "Ta'lim al-Salah"?

The Shaykh : As for the book "Al-Adhkar" and "Riyad al-Salihin", they are by al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him), and there is no doubt that they contain great benefit.

The questioner : Very well.

The Shaykh : It is a great benefit, but they are not free from some weak hadiths, especially the book "Al-Adhkar". However, the scholars have clarified this, and praise be to Allah, but they are very few hadiths. I think a person should read them because of the many benefits they contain, and he can ask about the hadiths that he finds objectionable; he should ask the scholars of hadith about them.
As for "Al-Jawab al-Kafi li Man Sala 'an al-Dawa' al-Shafi", it is by Ibn al-Qayyim, one of the students of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him). It is a good book containing great admonitions, but at the end of it are things that appear to have been written by the author (may Allah have mercy on him) because this book was for a specific person who was afflicted with a calamity, and the author (may Allah have mercy on him) thought it appropriate to mention what he mentioned at the end of the book. As for the book "Khzinat al-Asrar", I do not know about it and I have not read it. Yes.

The questioner : Very well.
