The questioner : In his third and final question, he asks: What is the ruling on one who does not pay the zakah in full, meaning he deducts from its amount? We ask for your guidance in this matter. May Allah reward you with good?
The Shaykh : It is obligatory for a person to be sincere to himself and to hold himself accountable for his obligations, performing them, and for the forbidden things, avoiding them, for his soul is a trust in his care. It is obligatory for the person to whom Allah has granted wealth to pay his zakah in the manner in which he was commanded. If he deducts anything from it, he is falling short of an obligatory duty. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he saidSahih al-Bukhari 1403 It is also established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said Sahih Muslim 987a These two hadiths are indicated by the saying of the Exalted: [Ali 'Imran 3:180] and His saying: [At-Tawbah 9:34-35] It is obligatory for the sincere servant to fear Allah regarding himself and to pay the zakah of his wealth in full. He should know that this zakah is not a burden, but rather a gain, a reward, and a recompense that he will find stored for him with Allah. And Allah will bless what remains of his wealth, for it is established from the Prophet (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) that charity does not decrease wealth; rather, charities increase wealth in growth, purity, and blessing.
The questioner : Thank you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you for what you have clarified for us and for the honorable listening brothers.

Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a baldheaded poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.'
If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him, when the Day of Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell.
And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.
And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment. (35) The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard."
The questioner : Thank you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you for what you have clarified for us and for the honorable listening brothers.
