The questioner : The listener, A.S. Umm Juwayriyah from the State of Kuwait, also from her questions, O honorable Shaykh, she says that she is a woman who wears the niqab and praises Allah for that. She says, but my mother refuses to go out with me to visit relatives and kin because she believes that I am a source of embarrassment for her, and she is not pleased with my behavior regarding wearing the niqab, not shaking hands with men, and other matters of religious commitment. How should I deal with her, and what do you advise us? May you be rewarded?
The Shaykh : The answer to this is from two aspects.
The questioner : Yes.
The Shaykh : The first aspect regarding your mother: I advise her to leave this matter, which is bothering you because of your religious commitment. I tell her that it is obligatory for her to strive to help you in righteousness and piety, and to praise Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for making among her offspring a righteous offspring. Every person, without doubt, is happy if their children are righteous, whether sons or daughters.
The questioner : Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : The righteous child, male or female, is the one by whom his father benefits after his death, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1631 And it is never permissible for her to bother you for doing what is right and leaving what is wrong.
As for the second aspect, which is regarding you: you must adhere to the limits of Allah, and no one matters to you, neither your mother nor anyone else. If you do what pleases Allah, it does not matter if all people are angry with you, even your mother. And whoever is angry with you because of obedience to Allah, let them be angry, and do not pay any attention to them ever.
And as for her refusing to go out with you and considering it an embarrassment for her, this is due to her lack of insight. There is no embarrassment in the niqab or in refraining from shaking hands with non-mahram relatives. Rather, it is a blessing from Allah, and a person should be happy with it and praise Allah who helped them to do it, because it is obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Yes.

When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious child, who prays for him (for the deceased).
