What is the wisdom behind shrouding the deceased in white before burial?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the wisdom behind shrouding the deceased in white before burial?

The Shaykh : Yes. Shrouding the deceased is obligatory and a collective obligation (fard kifayah), based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the man who was crushed by his mount while standing at 'Arafah:
Wash him with water and Sidr, and shroud him in his garments اغسلوه بماء وسدر، وكفنوه في ثوبيه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 951Sahih (Darussalam)
It is not obligatory for the shroud to be white, but the recommended practice (sunnah) is that it be white, for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in three white, coarse cotton garments. This is the known recommended practice from the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to this day. In fact, it is reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he ordered shrouding in white garments and said:
They are among the best of our garments إنها من خير ثيابنا
Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. From Diyala Province, Iraq, a female listener... says in her question.
