Placing the hands of the deceased on his chest or at his sides during shrouding

Fatwa number ( 20863 )
Q: Ibn 'Abd al-Hadi mentioned in his book: (Mughni Dhawi al-Afham) that
the hands of the deceased are placed on his chest during shrouding , and I have researched this issue in more than twenty books from the books of the scholars, and I did not find any mention of it, nor even a reference to it; in fact, in books other than those of the Hanbalis, I did not find anything. Therefore, I hope you will be kind enough to clarify the correctness of this statement, and whether there is any proof from the recognized legal evidence for it, or whether it is an independent legal reasoning (ijtihad) of Ibn 'Abd al-Hadi (may Allah have mercy on him)? I ask Allah to preserve you and grant you health and well-being in His obedience. Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

A: There is no harm in placing the hands of the deceased on his chest or at his sides during shrouding, for the matter is broad in this regard, and praise be to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
