Do dreams of death and seeing the deceased indicate that a person will die, and what should a person do to make these dreams go away?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Do dreams of death and seeing the deceased indicate that a person will die? And what should a person do to make these dreams go away?

The Shaykh : These dreams that a person sees in his sleep, which frighten and sadden him, are from Shaytan, for Shaytan is eager to instill sadness and fear in every Muslim. Allah the Exalted said:
Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allah
[Al-Mujadila 58:10]
And so, the bad dreams that sadden and frighten a person are from Shaytan. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the one who sees what he dislikes to spit to his left three times, and say: “I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of Shaytan and from the evil of what I saw,” then to lie on his other side, and not to tell anyone what he saw. So if you see what you dislike, whether it is death or something other than death, do as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded: spit to your left three times and say “I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of Shaytan and from the evil of what I saw”, and if you intend to sleep, lie on your other side. And when you get up, do not tell anyone what you saw, for that will not harm you.
And so, if a person sees in his sleep what he dislikes regarding the matter of death, this is not evidence that he will die soon; rather, this is from Shaytan in order to instill sadness and fear in him. So let him seek refuge in Allah from it and not tell anyone about it, for it will not harm him. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. The second question in the letter from the listener A.M.M. from Jeddah says: O honorable Shaykh.
