What is the ruling if a person has not paid the zakah for ten years?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : How are you, Shaykh?

The Shaykh: I praise Allah to Him.

The questioner: O Shaykh, I have two questions, may I ask you?

The Shaykh : One of them.

The questioner: A person has not paid the zakah on his wealth for approximately ten years.

The Shaykh: May Allah accept his repentance.

The questioner: And this man, yes, he repented. Does he have to perform the obligation for the previous years?

The Shaykh : It is necessary.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : And may Allah protect you, if Allah wills.

The questioner: May I ask the second question?

The Shaykh : later, if Allah wills.
