The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "As He has enjoined upon those before you."
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And in His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:183] there are two benefits. The first benefit is the consolation of this Ummah, for Allah the Mighty and Majestic did not obligate this fasting upon them except because others were obligated to it. The second benefit is the clarification of the virtue of this Ummah, for they have completed the virtues that were completed for others. Then know that fasting is the restraint of a person from what is beloved, and zakah is the giving of a person of what is beloved, and prayer is a bodily obligation and an act of physical effort. Thus, these five pillars have completed all types of obligation: physical effort, giving of what is beloved, and restraint from what is beloved.
