Sudden Inability and What Is Obligatory Upon It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the second type of inability, it is the sudden inability that is expected to end, such as a sudden illness like a cold, fever, or the like. What is obligatory for this person? It is obligatory for him to make up the fast if he breaks it; he must make up what he did not fast. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days ومن كان مريضا أو على سفر فعدة من أيام أخر
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
So, regarding this patient whose condition is expected to end, we tell him: Break your fast if fasting is difficult for you, and make up the days you did not fast.
