The Shaykh’s mention of the hadith of the schism and his discussion of it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... which is encompassed by the statement of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the famous hadith:
The Jews split into seventy-one sects, and the Christians split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects; all of them will be in the Fire except one.
. They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said:
It is the Jama'ah.
. And in a narration that explains the first narration, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
It is the one that is upon what I am upon and my Companions
.
So this hadith is one of the explicit hadiths that clearly indicates that the saved sect is from among the seventy-three sects that our Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) informed would occur in this Ummah, and his report (peace and blessings be upon him) is the truth; for as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said in the Noble Qur'an:
(3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. (4) It is not but a revelation revealed,
[An-Najm 53:3-4]
