Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner says: My father took a loan from a bank through riba (usury or interest) to build a house. Is it permissible for me to live with him in this house?

The Shaykh : Is he able to not live with him? If he is able to not live with him, he should not live with him.

The questioner : He should not live with him.

The Shaykh : If he is able to not live with him, he should not live with him.

The questioner : Even if he is forced to live with him, even if he is forced.

The Shaykh : May Allah guide you. I am telling you: if he is able to not live with him, the answer is understood.

The questioner : It is understood. If this father does not know that the loan he took and received was through riba (usury or interest), and that is due to ignorance, for example, what does this father do?

The Shaykh : The father.

The questioner : Yes, the father.

The Shaykh : How does he not know?

The questioner : Due to his ignorance, he takes the loan from the bank. The Shaykh : Fine, he repents to Allah and returns the loan if he is able.

The questioner : What does he do with the house he built?

The Shaykh : That is it, the matter is over, as long as the question is that he did not know, and for every answer there is a question.
