The divorced woman residing in a secluded part of her ex-husband's house

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15743 )
Q: I am a civilian government employee, and my salary does not exceed 2,800 (two thousand and eight hundred) riyals. My mother is divorced from my father, and the Shari'ah does not permit me to give her to my father after her divorce. I am unable to rent a place for my mother over the long term because my salary does not cover the expenses of my father's house and my mother's house. Is it permissible, O honorable Shaykh, to build three rooms for my mother in the courtyard of my father's house? Please note that the rooms will be completely secluded from my father's entry and exit to and from the house. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A: There is no harm in building a residence for your mother from your father's house if he permits
it, and it is completely secluded as you mentioned in your question; because there is no legal concern in building the aforementioned residence. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
