Are the sects that deviate from the methodology of the Salaf eternal in the Fire?

The questioner : We spoke a little while ago about the sects being eternal in the Fire?

The Shaykh : No, may Allah reward you, this varies according to the nature of their misguidance. If their misguidance leads them to exit the religion, then they are the ones who are eternal in the Fire. But if it does not lead them to that level, but only to some violations, like the sinners who commit unlawful sexual intercourse, or steal, or backbite, or similar things, then these people are not eternal in the Fire, unless it is accompanied by a belief that constitutes disbelief. For example, if they consider a sin permissible while knowing that it is forbidden, and they deem it permissible, then its perpetrator deserves eternity in the Fire. That is, there is disbelief that leads to eternity, and there is disbelief that does not lead to eternity. And our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) will hold every person accountable for what they have earned.
