Among the characteristics of Friday is that it is not singled out for worship.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the characteristics of this day is that its day is not singled out for fasting, nor its night for standing in prayer. Rather, a person is prohibited from fasting on Friday specifically for the sake of this day.
However, if it is in the form of a habit, such as if his habit is to fast one day and break the fast the next, and Friday happens to be his day of fasting, then there is no harm.
Likewise, if he has missed fasts from Ramadan to make up and he cannot find time to fast the make-up fasts except on Friday, then there is no harm in fasting on Friday, because he has not singled it out.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited singling out the night of Friday for standing in prayer, meaning that one should not stand in prayer at night except on the night of Friday. Rather, if it is his habit to stand in prayer on the night of Friday and on other nights, that is fine; otherwise, he should not single out the night of Friday for standing in prayer.
