The Meaning of His Saying: "And every soul will come with a driver and a witness. Indeed, you were heedless of this, so We removed your covering, and your sight is sharp today."

The Shaykh : Our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has spoken the truth. By Allah, we are indeed heedless of this Day, and this Day rarely comes to our minds, except for the one whom Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has guided, and for whom the Hereafter is always before his eyes and the object of his thought. But most of our time—may Allah treat us with His forgiveness—our thoughts are occupied with this worldly life. We are among those who have become attached to the earth, except for whom Allah wills. One of us has not elevated his thought or his heart to the point of looking at 'Ilyun and looking at what lies ahead of him. Rather, we are simple and weak, looking only at the worldly life before us. For this reason, He, Mighty and Majestic, said here: And We removed this covering, and the promised matter was witnessed. The promised matter, which is the Day of Resurrection, was witnessed, and it became clear to people by direct observation.
After it was weak, like that of a blind person, it is today sharp and strong, because he sees the truths before him with his own eyes.
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: .
Then He mentioned at the end of the surah the people of the Fire and the people of Paradise.
