Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Indeed, you were in heedlessness of this)

Then Allah the Exalted said:
You were certainly in unmindfulness of thisلَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا) [ق:٢٢]
[Qaf 50:22]
:- You were The address is to the human being, and in it is what is called al-iltifat (shift in address),And the meaning of al-iltifat is: which is when a person shifts in his style from address to the third person, or from the third person to address, or from the first person to the third person; the important thing is that the pronouns change. And the benefit of that al-iltifat is: Its benefit is that it engages the listener's mind, for while the speech is on one track, suddenly it changes.

Look at the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And Allah had already taken a covenant from the Children of Israelوَلَقَدْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرائيلَ) [المائدة:١٢]
[Al-Ma'idah 5:12]
and after that, and We sent from them twelve leaders) [Al-Ma'idah: 12] and He did not say: and We sent.
And look at al-Fatihah which we recite every day in every unit of our prayers: The praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds * The Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy * Master of the Day of Judgment) [Al-Fatihah: 1-3] After that? You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help) [Al-Fatihah: 5] and He did not say: Him we worship, and the context of the verses is for the third person; the praise for Allah is not for the one being addressed,So what did you say: but rather: The praise is for You, O Lord.

So the important thing is that al-iltifat is one of the styles of the Arabic language, and its benefit is: engaging the listener's mind with what is conveyed to him of speech.
(Indeed, you were in heedlessness of this), and as you know, the sentence here is affirmed by three affirmations; Indeed, you were,And it is frequently found in the Qur'an always: (Indeed, you were) (Indeed, he was) (Indeed, he came) The scholars say that this sentence is affirmed by three affirmations: the first is the oath.

And the second: The lam.

And the third: Qad.

So the estimation is: By Allah! Indeed, you were in heedlessness of this,Here we raise a question: Is not the news of Allah the Exalted true and truthful, whether it is affirmed or not affirmed? Yes, without a doubt; but since the Qur'an was revealed in the Arabic language, it must be that the affirmation is in its place and the lack of affirmation is in its place; because the intention is that this Qur'an be at the highest levels of eloquence.
Indeed, you wereلَقَدْ كُنْتَ
[Qaf: 22] Meaning: O human being.
In heedlessness of thisفِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا
[Qaf: 22] Meaning: You were heedless of this Day, distracted in this world, as if you were created for it.
and We have removed from you your coverفَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ
[Qaf: 22] Meaning: This Day the cover has been removed, the hidden has become apparent, and everything has become clear.
So your sight is sharp today) [Qaf: 22] Meaning: strong, after it was in this world blind, dark, and heedless; but on the Day of Resurrection, the Day every soul will find what it has done of good present) [Al-Imran: 30] everything becomes clear.
We ask Allah the Exalted to make our ending and outcome good for us and for you, and to gather us with those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor, from the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
