How do we understand the saying of Allah the Exalted: “He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night,” and His saying

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, regarding polar regions, for example, where there are six months of night and six months of day, how do we reconcile the astronomy here with the verse:
He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ
[Az-Zumar 39:5]
, “He made the night for you as a cloak and the day for sustenance.”

The Shaykh : ... This is based on the predominant condition. The predominant condition is always the basis upon which the rulings of the Shari'ah are established.
