A brother's request to the Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) to work on authenticating certain books in specific sciences, and the Shaykh's (may Allah have mercy on him) comment on that

Shuqara: This is a request from one of the brothers. He says that he would like our distinguished Shaykh to complete his projects and scientific research, such as *Tammam al-Mannah* and *Sahih al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah*, and then he mentioned *Mishkat al-Masabih* and I do not know if he mentioned... and that he authenticate... a book on tafsir and the occasions of revelation of the verses. This is the request...

The Shaykh: We say on this occasion, extend to us your support, support, support, support...
Shuqara: ...

The Shaykh: By "support" here, I refer to his saying (peace be upon him): So you should make du'a for us so that we may fulfill this request and more than that. But our reality, and praise be to Allah, is that we are proceeding with authenticating many, and very many, projects. However, as it was said and as we said earlier:
Knowledge, if you seek it, is abundant
And life is short in acquiring it
So prioritize the most important of it, then the next most important
So we try to be correct and to approximate, and we present the most important, then the next most important. And this, without a doubt, its evaluation does not return to Zayd, Bakr, or 'Amr, because the matter differs in that case, and pleasing people is a goal that cannot be reached. Rather, this matter concerns only the one who is responsible for it. So it is sufficient for you to make du'a for us to fulfill the request, and praise be to Allah...
Shuqara: And the truth is, I had hinted at this matter in my speech that I mentioned earlier, and I said that our Shaykh (may Allah preserve him) is occupied with completing his projects. Therefore, meeting him, the meeting with him, we are the most eager for it. But his occupation with these projects and these books and authentications is a matter that means it requires complete dedication. So he does us a great favor when he accepts the invitation of one of the brothers to meet him in this invitation and speaks to us as a teacher speaks to his students. May Allah reward him with good.

The Shaykh: Excuse me, that is our duty, and within the limits of our capacity .
