The words of the commentator on the Tahawiyyah and his refutation of the Asha'irah in their statement that He is seen but not in a direction.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Listen to what the commentator says: "It is not likening the seeing of Allah the Exalted to the seeing of the sun and moon in a way that likens Allah to them; rather, it is likening the act of seeing to the act of seeing, not likening the one seen to the one seen. However, it contains evidence for the exaltation of Allah above His creation. Otherwise, do you comprehend seeing without facing? And whoever says, 'He is seen but not in a direction,' let him review his intellect. Either he is being obstinate against his intellect, or there is something wrong with his intellect. Otherwise, if he says, 'He is seen, not in front of the seer, not behind him, not to his right, not to his left, not above him, and not below him,' everyone who hears him will refute him with their sound fitrah (innate natural disposition)! What do you say?"
