Is prayer during the adhan prescribed? And what is the evidence for that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Eid Abbasi : One of the questions is: Is prayer during the adhan prescribed or not? And what is the evidence for that?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that if a person hears the adhan while he is praying, it is permissible for him to continue in his prayer. As for the evidence he is asking about, two things come to mind for me right now:
The first thing is the principle of jurisprudence that states that the original ruling for things is permissibility, and deviating from the original ruling to prohibition requires evidence. So, when no evidence came that prevents the one praying from continuing in his prayer because he heard the adhan, that alone is sufficient to establish the permissibility of continuing in prayer.
The second piece of evidence is from the category of
say not to them [so much as], "uff," فَلَا تَقُلْ لَهُمَا أُفٍّ
[Al-Isra 17:23]
; that is, an argument of greater priority. It is that if a man is praying on Friday and hears the adhan, the Lawgiver did not prevent him from continuing in prayer. Rather, when the preacher ascends the pulpit and begins the sermon, that is when the prayer ends. This is an explicit text regarding what? It is regarding Friday, specifically the adhan on Friday. And there is no doubt that Friday is better than the other days. So, if this is the case on Friday, then the other days are all the more so.
This is the answer to the question.
