Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And We have caused to grow therein from every beautiful pair. A sign and a reminder for every servant who turns back.”

The Shaykh : We have caused to grow in the earth from every pair: Here, "pair" means type or kind, as Allah the Exalted said: meaning types, and He said: meaning their types. So "pair" means type, and "beautiful" means that which delights the soul and pleases the heart. Go out to the earth, to the valleys, to the lush meadows in the days of spring, and you will find among the types of plants what indicates the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and what delights you. You will find this one green and this one leaning more toward black, and these flowers, some red, some blue, and some white, different and varied, indicating the perfection of the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says: By this, a person observes and deduces the completeness of the power of Allah and the perfection of His wisdom (Exalted and Majestic is He).
The earth, before rain descends upon it, is barren, dry, and lifeless. When rain descends upon it and it causes to grow from every beautiful pair, that is a proof of the resurrection of the dead. The dead in their graves do not move, and perhaps the earth has consumed their bodies, for the earth consumes the bodies of the children of Adam, except the prophets, for Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the prophets. These people will come out on the Day of Resurrection alive, just as the earth comes to life. Therefore, He said: .
