If one misses some of the rak'ahs of the tarawih prayer, should he make them up after the witr prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the issue of standing in night prayer, he says: If I attend with the people while they are praying the tarawih prayer and I have missed some of it, should I make up what I missed after the witr, or what should I do?

The Shaykh : Do not make up what you missed after the witr. However, if you wish to make up what you missed, pair the witr with the imam, then pray what you missed, and then conclude with the witr. Here is a point we wish to draw attention to: If you arrive while the imam is praying the tarawih and you have not yet prayed the 'Isha' prayer, what do you do? Do you pray the 'Isha' prayer alone, or do you join the imam in the tarawih with the intention of praying the 'Isha'? The answer is the second option: join the imam in the tarawih with the intention of praying the 'Isha'. When the imam concludes the tarawih with the taslim, stand up and make up the remainder of the 'Isha' prayer that is due from you. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) explicitly stated this specific issue. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah chose this position, and it is the stronger opinion, because the stronger opinion is that it is permissible to complete an obligatory prayer with a voluntary prayer, based on the hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him)
That he used to pray the 'Isha' prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then return to his people and pray that prayer with them. أنه كان يصلي مع النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم صلاة العشاء ثم يرجع إلى قومه فيصلي بهم تلك الصلاة
It is a voluntary prayer for him and an obligatory prayer for them.
