Livestock.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : All right, livestock are: camels, cattle, and sheep.
However, zakah is not obligatory in them unless they are grazing, and the meaning of grazing is that they feed themselves, either for the entire year or for most of the year. As for livestock that a person works hard to maintain, buying them barley or feed, there is no zakah in them, even if they number in the hundreds. If a person has a herd of camels but works hard on them and buys them feed, there is no zakah in them. Why?
Because they are not grazing. Likewise, if he has sheep numbering two thousand heads, but he buys them barley and feed and they do not graze, there is no zakah in them, unless they are from trade goods. Trade goods have zakah in them in all cases. What is the nisab for livestock?
It varies. Camels have a nisab, sheep have a nisab, and cattle have a nisab. The minimum nisab for camels is five, and for sheep?
The students: Forty.

The Shaykh : Forty, and for cattle?
Thirty. Then every specific number has its own independent nisab, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) determined.
