What is the reference you recommend to us for knowing the stories of the prophets and their details?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Your Eminence, what is the reference you recommend to us for knowing the stories of the prophets and their details?

The Shaykh : The reference is the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Allah the Exalted said:
Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah.
[Ibrahim 14:9]
So where do we take their history from? We take it from the Book of Allah, and from what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed to His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). This is the correct reference. However, regarding the books written on this matter, the best book I have come across to refer to is *Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihayah* by Ibn Kathir, because he is a hadith scholar and a researcher. He is among the best of those who wrote about the history of the messengers and their nations. So referring to *Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihayah* is good. But as I said, the primary reference is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Yes.
