Q248: The questioner says: It is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: . Will this disagreement befall the Muslim community in the last times, and will Islamic unity weaken? I ask for clarification. May Allah guide you.
A248: Its disagreement is ancient. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:1232. But praise be to Allah, there is a reference point to which we return and by which we settle this disagreement. For this reason, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 165Sahīh (Zubair `Aliza'i). And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says: [An-Nisa 4:59]. Disagreement exists, but the standard is the Book and the Sunnah.
Whoever among you lives will see much disagreement
A248: Its disagreement is ancient. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever among you lives will see much difference
You must therefore follow my sunna and that of the rightly guided Caliphs
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
