If a person intends to perform Hajj Tamattu', does he remain in the state of Tamattu' if he leaves after his 'Umrah to Jeddah or similar places? And if he goes to Jeddah to bring his family, what is the best course of action?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Questions regarding Hajj. He says, may Allah honor him,The Shaykh : If a person intends to perform Hajj Tamattu' and performs 'Umrah during the months of Hajj, should he leave the Haram and then return to Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah, or should he remain in the Haram and not leave it? If he goes to Jeddah or returns to his hometown to bring his family, is it better for him to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah anew, thereby severing his Tamattu'? What do you advise in both cases?

The Shaykh : Yes, if a person enters the state of ihram for Tamattu' and arrives in Makkah, it is obligatory for him to perform tawaf, sa'y, and shorten his hair, and by doing so, he exits the state of ihram from his 'Umrah. After that, he may go to Jeddah, Ta'if, Madinah, or other countries, and his Tamattu' is not severed by this, even if he returns in the state of ihram for Hajj; the Tamattu' is not severed. However, if he travels to his hometown and then returns from his hometown in the state of ihram for Hajj, his Tamattu' is severed. If he returns in the state of ihram for 'Umrah and does not return to his hometown a second time, he becomes a person performing Tamattu' with the second 'Umrah, not the first 'Umrah, because the first 'Umrah was severed from the Hajj by his return to his hometown. In summary: a person performing Tamattu' may travel between the 'Umrah and the Hajj to his hometown or elsewhere, but if he travels to his hometown and then returns in the state of ihram for Hajj, his Tamattu' is severed and he becomes a person performing Ifrad. If he travels to a place other than his hometown and then returns in the state of ihram for Hajj, he remains in the state of Tamattu', and he must offer the sacrificial animal, as is well known.
