What is better for one who performs Hajj with elderly women: tamattu' or qiran? And is it a condition for the one performing qiran to bring sacrificial animals?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : I have elderly women with me, so which is better, tamattu' or qiran? Because in qiran, the sa'y is omitted, and it is also possible for the woman to combine the tawaf of ifadah with the tawaf of farewell, which would make it easier for an elderly woman? Do you advise the elderly to do tamattu' or qiran? Answer us, may Allah guide you? And is it a condition for the one performing qiran to bring sacrificial animals?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that in these times, it is difficult for many pilgrims, if they are performing tamattu', to perform the tawaf for 'Umrah, the sa'y for 'Umrah, then the tawaf for Hajj, the sa'y for Hajj, and then the tawaf of farewell. So some people think it is better to perform qiran. When he arrives in Makkah, he performs the tawaf of arrival and the sa'y for Hajj and 'Umrah, and he does not repeat the sa'y a second time. In this regard, it is easier than tamattu'. It is also easier than tamattu' in another way, because if he is performing qiran, he may delay the tawaf until after the completion of Hajj. That is, it is permissible for him not to perform the tawaf of arrival and not to perform the sa'y, but rather to enter the state of ihram for Hajj and 'Umrah, then go out to Mina, complete the Hajj, and then perform the tawaf and sa'y whenever it is convenient for him, even if it is after the thirteenth day, or after the fourteenth day, or after the fifteenth day, or at the end of the month. So here, it becomes easier for people than tamattu'. Thus, qiran is easier than tamattu' in two ways: the first way is that it does not include, what?
The student: The tawaf of farewell.

The Shaykh : One tawaf and one sa'y. Let us leave aside the tawaf of farewell. The second way is that the one performing qiran can choose not to perform the tawaf of the House when he first arrives and not to perform the sa'y, but rather go out to Mina and complete the Hajj, and whenever it is convenient for him, he performs the tawaf and sa'y. Based on this, we say: if this is easier, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
Never did Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) make a choice between two things but adopting the easier one as compared to the difficult one, but his choice for the easier one was only in case it did not involve any sin لم يخير بين شيئين إلا اختار أيسرهما ما لم يكن إثما
Sahih Muslim 2327d
, and qiran is not a sin, but rather it is one of the rituals of Hajj.
And the statementThe questioner : Is qiran permissible without bringing sacrificial animals? We say: Yes, qiran is permissible without bringing sacrificial animals. Because those who entered the state of ihram with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as in the hadith of 'A'ishah, some of them entered ihram for Hajj, some entered ihram for 'Umrah and Hajj, and some entered ihram for 'Umrah. Then when they arrived in Makkah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
Whoever did not bring sacrificial animals, let him make it 'Umrah. من لم يسق الهدي فليجعلها عمرة
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 4:239
This includes the one performing qiran who entered ihram at the miqat for Hajj and 'Umrah and did not bring sacrificial animals. And based on this, we say: if it were said that qiran in this case is better than tamattu', yes, if it were said that qiran in this case is better than tamattu', it would have a basis, because it is easier for people, and he has obtained both 'Umrah and Hajj, and he has also obtained the sacrificial animal, because the one performing qiran slaughters the sacrificial animal of tamattu' just as the one performing tamattu' does. Yes.
