Is there a specific sitting position when reciting the Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is there a specific sitting position when reciting the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : I am not aware of a specific sitting position for this. Rather, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the Qur'an while leaning on the lap of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was menstruating. So the Qur'an is recited in any state, whether a person is sitting, lying down, or standing. However, one is prohibited from reciting the Qur'an during the bowing and prostration in prayer, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating; so while in the bowing (position) glorify (the Perfection of) the Rabb (Lord), and while in the prostrating (position) ألا وإني نهيت أن أقرأ القرءان راكعاً أو ساجداً، فأما الركوع فعظّموا فيه الرب، وأما السجود فأكثروا فيه من الدعاء
Bulugh al-Maram 2:179
. Yes.

The questioner : If he recites, may the one praying be well, O Shaykh...

The Shaykh : If?

The questioner : In the bowing or prostration.

The Shaykh : If?
