What is your opinion on fighting under the banner of Saddam Hussein?

The Shaykh : We have spoken about this issue repeatedly. If the Muslim states wish to expel Iraq from Kuwait, it is permissible for them to do so. If the Muslim states wish to expel the aggressing, rebellious Iraq from Kuwait, it is permissible for them to do so. However, it is not permissible for them to fight Iraq within the land of Iraq, because in that case, they would be like the aggressors. So I say: if the Muslim states gather to expel Iraq from Kuwait, this is a matter of repelling the rebel. But it is not permissible for them to occupy Iraq as the Americans want. Consequently, it is not permissible to fight alongside the Americans, meaning the Americans do not rule by the Shari'ah of Islam, so they will not stand with the Muslims regarding the rulings of Islam.
