What is the position of a Muslim if the Jews and Americans enter, and is it permissible to fight under a non-Muslim banner?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Please go ahead.

The questioner : What is my position as a Muslim if the Jews or Americans enter, and is it permissible for me to fight under a banner, the banner that currently exists, which is a non-Islamic banner?

The Shaykh : Before answering the question, I want to draw your attention to the fact that, since this is the first time you are meeting in such a council, it is not permissible for you to say "I, as a Muslim"; because when you say "I, as a Muslim," the wording gives the impression, even if the heart does not intend it, that you are not a Muslim; because when you say "Zayd is like a lion," he is not a lion, but he resembles a lion; so when a person says about someone that he is "as a Muslim," it means that he is not a Muslim; therefore, the correct way to phrase such a question is to say: "I, in my capacity as a Muslim," not "as a Muslim." After this correction of the question, I return to say: defending oneself against an aggressor attacking a Muslim in his own home is obligatory, even if the aggressor is a Muslim; so how much more so if the aggressor is a disbeliever? Did you get the answer to your question?

The questioner : We said under non-Islamic banners.

The Shaykh : Yes, but what did I say before that?

The questioner : The Israeli or American attack.

The questioner : Defense means it is obligatory.

The Shaykh : Ah, but when a banner is declared, a non-Islamic banner is raised for fighting, if the intention of the fighting is defense, you know the answer that it is obligatory; but if the intention of the fighting is aggression, then in that case it is not permissible except to be under an Islamic banner.

The questioner : This is what I am placing as the second question, what is the ruling if we are called to fight them under a non-Islamic banner, as a detail, so the second one is not permissible.
Al-Halabi : The question is not clear to me.

The Shaykh : In any case: I believe you have received the answer to your first and second questions?

The questioner : Yes, correct.
