You stated that fighting alongside the Iraqis is permissible if Arab states assist with their armies, knowing that their military system is built in contradiction to the Shari'ah. We ask for clarification on this.

The questioner : Well, this state may be one where we know that there is no state that raises the banner of Islam, meaning, or whose law, even its military law, does not align.

The Shaykh : The answer to this, my brother, is well known, may Allah reward you. Now, the Muslims are between two evils, and I think that in our previous discussion, if it was not clear before, it is now clear. That is that the Muslims today have no choice but for the outcome to be either for the American and British disbelievers and those with them, or for the Iraqi army and any Islamic states that may be with them. Are you following up to this point? Well, so now we say which of the two evils is more dangerous for the Muslims.

The questioner : There is no doubt that the danger of disbelief and its alliance is greater.

The Shaykh : That is it. And therefore, from the perspective of repelling the greater evil with the lesser evil, we must not delve deeply into the thinking that is a reality, unfortunately, as you mentioned. Is that clear?
